tips for clear writing

Be clear – why use lots of big words when fewer, shorter ones do the job?
Consider your audience – are they really going to get the message clearly?
Avoid excess use of jargon – unless you are only targeting an audience that will be familiar with it.
Ensure that the content is up to date and accurate.
Don't rely solely on the spell-checker.
Use a good dictionary in conjunction with a spell-checker.
Check spacing, fonts, headings, abbreviations and tense (past/present) for consistency.
Have someone else read over your work and provide feedback.
